World Bank Mission pays visit to UZEX

The mission’s goal is to study and render support to development electronic public procurement in Uzbekistan, the UZEX said.

During the meeting, the guests familiarized with electronic trades system of UZEX on public procurement. The guests received information on electronic public procurement system of UZEX, which was launched in April 2011.

It was noted that the volume of public procurement rose twice and reached 417 billion soums. About 83.1 billion soums of budget resources were saved in the result of trades. At the same time, over 83% of supply of goods and services within public procurement fell to share of small businesses.

The sides discussed ensuring guarantees on execution of signed deals, procedures of accreditation of participants at trades, as well as perspectives of further developing electronic public procurement.

The World Bank representatives positively rated work on organization of electronic public procurement at UZEX.

After the talks, the sides reached agreement on further cooperation on improving electronic public procurement based on international experience.
