Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 May, the Deputy Khokim of Tashkent for the implementation of information technologies, Director of the Digital Development Department Alexei Khen received a World Bank delegation with urban mobility experts from the Republic of Korea.

After a mutual exchange of greetings, the head of the mission, Antonio Nunez, explained: the task of the delegation of experts is to promote the development of the transport of the capital, using the possibilities of artificial intelligence. This means introducing solutions that improve traffic, reduce congestion and minimize the impact on the environment. The mission provides for the exchange of experience - in addition to Tashkent, it will affect Almaty, Bishkek and Nursultan, which means that it makes sense to use the successful developments of neighbors. Experts have already begun to get acquainted with the situation in the city - they study traffic and move around the city by public transport.

Alexey Khen invited the guests to close cooperation, spoke about the recent transformation of part of Navoi Avenue, taking into account the recommendations of the Russian urbanist Arkady Gershman, about the excessive development of road transport with all the ensuing problems, and noted the increased credit of trust to foreign experts.

The guests were told about the Digital Tashkent project, which contains databases on road accidents, information on the availability of transport and attendance by citizens of selected locations by hours and days of the week.

World Bank experts requested data on air pollution, as well as a scheme for interaction between the khokimiyat and the Ministry of Transport, Toshshahartranskhizmat JSC and the Tashkent Road Safety Department.

The sides agreed that the experts will form a request for data for further interaction, and the city hokimiyat will promptly provide them.
