Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 8 September, a meeting of the Working Group of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Science, Education and Health was held.

During the meeting, with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and departments, experts, the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the rights of persons with disabilities" and "On the prevention and treatment of drug addiction diseases" were discussed, which are planned to be considered at the seventh plenary session of the upper house of parliament.

It was noted that the Law "On the Rights of Persons with Disabilities" regulates all the rights of persons with disabilities, it provides for equal opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in all spheres of life on an equal basis with other members of society without discrimination on the basis of disability.

In addition, it was emphasized that, based on international standards for creating conditions for persons with disabilities, the Law reflects such new terms that did not previously exist in national legislation, such as “discrimination on the basis of disability”, “non-governmental non-profit organizations of persons with disabilities”, “habilitation "," Sign language translation "," sign language means "," typhlotechnical means".

It was also noted that the Law "On the prevention and treatment of narcological diseases" serves to promote a healthy lifestyle in our country. It pays special attention to the prevention of drug addiction diseases, systemic measures in this direction. It was also said that in the Law the prevention of drug addiction diseases includes primary, secondary and tertiary prevention.

In the course of an active discussion, suggestions and comments were made on the discussed laws.
