Senators, heads of relevant ministries and departments and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the event, which was dedicated to the importance of countering trafficking in persons and forced labor in protecting the honor and dignity of the people, human interests, strengthening the positive image of our country in the international arena. in the United States of America Javokhir Vakhabov.
It was noted that international partners highly appreciate the large-scale reforms consistently and accelerated under the leadership of the President. Of great importance is Uzbekistan’s commitment to achieving international status as a “model of transformational change” in such areas as comprehensive support for this process, protection of human rights.
In addition, as a result of the systematic work done to improve legislation, implement institutional reforms to ensure the rule of law, protect human rights and freedoms, Uzbekistan’s position in various thematic reports of international organizations in the field of human rights has significantly improved.
In addition, it was noted that Uzbekistan was completely excluded from the list of countries that violate freedom of religion, the achievements of our country in the field of labor protection and compliance with the requirements of its standards were recognized, the practice of hearing the report of the US Trade Representative on the problem of forced labor in Uzbekistan was stopped and the right to duty-free trade was preserved. with the United States.
During the meeting, along with the achievements and work done, an emphasis was placed on issues awaiting their solution, in particular on the problem of human trafficking. In this regard, the need was noted to speed up the work to identify victims of this type of crime, investigate them and bring the perpetrators to justice.
