Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On measures to support the education of women in higher, secondary specialized and vocational educational institutions” was adopted.
According to the legislation, since the 2022/2023 academic year, in all private, foreign and state higher, secondary specialized and professional educational organizations of Uzbekistan, a new system has been introduced for allocating funds from the State budget to banks to finance educational loans on preferential terms for educating women on a fee-based contract basis in full-time, part-time and evening forms of education.
According to the resolution:
- educational loans are provided at a rate of 14 percent;
- the main part of the educational loan is repaid within 7 years, starting from the seventh month after the official end of the student's study period;
- when applying for and repaying an educational loan, the participation of the student's family members and other third parties with a regular income as co-borrowers is allowed;
- for the allocation of educational loans to women from families included in the Unified Register of Social Protection, collateral and guarantee are not required.
