He also called for the use of the Proofreading service provided by the Ministry of Innovative Development.
From 1 June to 1 September 2020, the UN Development Program, the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the support of the Swedish Embassy, conducted trainings to improve the quality of research activities and the skills of publishing scientific articles in international journals for women scientists of Uzbekistan.
The relevance of these trainings is justified by the fact that Uzbekistan has set an ambitious goal of entering the top 50 countries according to the Global Innovation Index rating, which, among many other indicators, takes into account the number and citation of published articles in the state. According to the Scopus database of scientists, there are only 3 representatives of Uzbekistan among the top 20 scientists for the period 2015-2020, which indicates the need to increase the involvement of women in scientific activities.
During the selection process, more than 250 applications were received for participation in the trainings, of which 51 people were selected. Trainings and seminars were conducted by academic economist Rauf Salakhodzhaev, a three-time winner of the award for achievements in science from Scopus (an international organization that evaluates the activities of scientists around the world), a frequently cited scientist from Uzbekistan in 2017, 2018, 2019
During the trainings, the participants gained new knowledge and skills on how to write scientific articles, what methodological approaches are used in social disciplines, how to write a literature review correctly, conduct empirical analysis and much more.
During the trainings, the articles of 3 participants were accepted in such world-renowned publications as the International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, Tourism Review International, International Journal of development studies.
