Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Wizz Air will provide Uzbek-language service on its flights to Uzbekistan.

The importance of clearly and accessibly conveying safety regulations on board an aircraft cannot be overstated. The lack of translation into a language passengers understand can lead to misunderstandings and create additional difficulties during the flight.

The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection reviewed an appeal from former deputy Rasul Kusherbayev, who encountered a similar issue on a Samarkand–Abu Dhabi flight. An investigation revealed that the airline’s crew provided safety instructions exclusively in a foreign language. When one of the passengers requested an explanation in Uzbek or Russian, the staff responded rudely and demanded that he leave the aircraft. As a result, he had to continue the flight under such conditions.

Following an official request from the Committee to the Ministry of Transport, disciplinary measures were taken against the responsible employees. Additionally, the airline’s crew members have undergone training aimed at improving communication culture, ensuring compliance with legal norms, and fostering respectful treatment of passengers.

Starting in 2025, all Wizz Air flights to Uzbekistan will feature flight attendants and staff proficient in the Uzbek language, enhancing service quality and passenger comfort.
