Within the framework of the Annual meeting of the Governing Council of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the Country Platform for Uzbekistan takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 18 October, within the framework of the Annual Meeting of the Governing Council of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, the Country Platform for Uzbekistan was organized, during which the attention of representatives of international financial institutions, the United Nations, the European Union and government partners, the processes of socio-economic transformation of Uzbekistan and the role of supporting international financial organizations in these processes were comprehensively presented.

The event was opened by the Vice President of the World Bank C. Muller and the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan S. Umurzakov, with the parallel connection through a conference call of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Uzbekistan - D. Kuchkarov.

During the multilateral discussion, it was noted that the reforms carried out by the Government and affecting practically all spheres of the economy and social sphere of the country contribute to shifts in the perception of the business image of Uzbekistan in the international arena and form the prerequisites for its intensive integration into the global financial situation.

In this regard, it was Uzbekistan that was chosen as an example of successful interaction of international financial institutions with the state, in the context of which specific cases were examined reflecting the role of missions and expert groups of international banks and financial organizations in the processes of reforming such promising projects as the oil and gas industry, transport and communications, banking and financial sector, regional development and agriculture.

Also during the discussion, the platform participants exchanged views on priorities in the further development of cooperation and implementation of projects in Uzbekistan and their participation in the full-scale deployment of reforms in the country through both consultative assistance and financing of large-scale projects of sectoral and regional significance.
