With the support of the National Chamber, Korean doctors to operate on 20 patients

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 20 patients diagnosed with cleft palate are planned to be operated on free of charge this fall by Korean doctors. They are supported in the implementation of this initiative by the National Chamber of Innovative Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The surgery will be performed by surgeons from Seoul National University Dental Clinic (SNUH). The first stage is the preparation of a list of patients and their examination, negotiations on the upcoming action. For this purpose, two representatives of SNUH visited Uzbekistan in the summer.

During the trip, they visited a clinic selected by the National Chamber for upcoming surgeries, conducted a selection of patients and their preliminary examination, including analysis.

“We are delighted to support SNUH’s initiative to operate on patients diagnosed with cleft palate. These are mainly children and adolescents from low-income families, many of them have complex cases of this pathology. As a result of joint efforts, they will be able to improve the quality of their lives, make new plans and implement them,” said Rovshan Izamov, chairman of the National Chamber, during a meeting with members of the Korean delegation.

In autumn, a working delegation of about 20 SNUH specialists is expected to arrive. In addition to helping patients, this cooperation will improve the skills of doctors in Uzbekistan, present in practice the latest innovations in surgery during operations of this type.

“Taking into account the multifaceted cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Uzbekistan, our University also considers it important to make its own contribution to the development of healthcare in your country. We are glad that we have found a reliable partner for the implementation of these plans in the person of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare, its leadership and departments in the regions,” emphasized SNUH Professor Byung Mo Seo.

We add that the operations will be carried out in the Tashkent region. SNUH specialists traditionally conduct charitable operations in Uzbekistan, this is their 10th visit to the country for this purpose.
