Wildberries Launches Installment Payment Service in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Wildberries marketplace in Uzbekistan has launched the BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) service “Installments,” allowing customers to split their purchases into multiple equal payments.
The new tool is designed to help users manage their personal budgets more effectively. The installment payment option is integrated directly into the platform’s checkout interface and can be selected when placing an order.
The service will gradually become available to users as the mobile app is updated and is expected to be accessible to all buyers within a few weeks. To use it, customers need to select the “Installments” option at checkout, review the terms and payment schedule, and confirm. The purchase amount is divided into six equal installments, each payable every two weeks. If the customer returns the product, the installment plan is automatically canceled, and any payments already made are refunded.
The introduction of the BNPL service positively impacts sellers’ sales. Installment payments encourage higher order volumes and increase the average order value, which, according to independent studies, can grow by 11–25%. Seller settlements remain unchanged, as they receive payment for goods in the standard manner, as if full prepayment were made.
“We are steadily expanding the range of payment options on our marketplace so that buyers can take full advantage of modern digital commerce. Launching the installment payment service is an important step toward enhancing financial convenience for customers and boosting sales for our sellers,” said Akmal Primkulov, Director of Wildberries Uzbekistan.
