Which regions of Uzbekistan showed the greatest business activity in February

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An analysis of business activity by regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan is calculated monthly by the CERR based on operational data (monitoring for all regions of the republic, according to the State Customs Committee, State Tax Committee, Central Bank and UzEX). 

The monitoring results showed that the volume of tax revenues of the republic in the period from 1 January to 28 February increased by 20.8% compared to the same period of last year.

At the same time, a significant increase in tax revenues was noted in Syrdarya (by 52%), Bukhara (by 45.2%), Namangan (by 40.6%), Ferghana (by 40.4%), Kashkadarya (by 39.8%) ) regions, and in Tashkent city (by 62%).

The growth of tax revenues was ensured due to positive changes in the economy, the price environment of the world gold market, improvement of the tax administration system, including the introduction of new administrative tools, digitalization and automation of processes, legalization of business activities and simplification of the procedure for complying with tax laws.

Revenues from customs payments for the analyzed period increased by 47.1%. The largest increase in revenues was observed in Jizzakh (by 3.1 times), Khorezm (by 2.6 times), Andijan (by 2.2 times), Kashkadarya (by 82.8%), Syrdarya (by 84.3%) areas.

The increase in customs revenues was ensured by increasing foreign trade turnover, increasing the country’s production capacities, simplifying customs administration procedures, digitalization and automation of processes, including the widespread use of risk management systems by customs authorities.

According to the State Customs Committee, the volume of exports of goods since the beginning of the year increased by 15.4% compared to the same period last year. A significant increase in the volume of exports of goods was noted in Kashkadarya (by 89.9%), Fergana (by 58.8%), Namangan (46.4%) and Samarkand (by 44%) regions.

The increase in the volume of exports of Uzbekistan is explained by the growing growth rates of exports of industrial goods, foodstuffs, chemicals and agri-food products

The volume of loans issued by commercial banks in the period from 1 January to 28 February increased by 3.8% compared to the same period of last year.

An increase in the volume of loans issued is observed in Tashkent (by 2.1 times), Khorezm (by 26.3%), Ferghana (by 17.7%), Namangan (by 17.4%) regions.

According to the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the base period (January and February 2021), lending was carried out to large projects in the real sector of the economy. In the reporting period, operations are mainly carried out to repay loans under these projects.

The volume of transactions on the Uzbek Republican Commodity Exchange for the analyzed period increased by 46.6%. A significant increase in exchange activity is observed in Khorezm (by 76.3%), Jizzakh (by 53%), Tashkent (by 51%) regions, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (by 48.2%) and in Tashkent (by 92.8%). %)

The growth in the volume of transactions in these regions was ensured by an increase in the sale of such goods as motor gasoline, diesel fuel, rolled ferrous metals, cotton fiber, cathode method, polyethylene, feed wheat, building materials, alcohol, etc.

During this period, 15,750 new business entities were created, the largest number of which was registered in Samarkand (2,121), Andijan (1,598), Tashkent (1,279), Ferghana (1,207) regions and in Tashkent (2,573).
