Western Tien Shan included to UNESCO World Heritage List

The World Heritage Committee adopted a corresponding decision at its 40th session in Istanbul, Turkey.

Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan submitted an application on inclusion of mountains of Western Tien Shan to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Tian Shan is a large system of mountain ranges located in Central Asia. Western Tian Shan is not very high compared to its central part, but unique and diverse. It is located in territories of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, and partially Tajikistan.
