War veterans to receive 15 million soums and bonuses to pensions and benefits

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In connection with the celebration of 9 May in Uzbekistan, the Day of Remembrance and Honor, participants in the war, prisoners of concentration camps and blockade of Leningrad will receive 15 million soums.

In addition, from 1 June, war veterans and persons with disabilities, lonely elderly people will receive a monthly supplement to pensions and benefits in the amount of 270,000 soums for the purchase of food and hygiene products. In addition, they will be compensated 4 million soums a year to buy clothes.

This amount is higher than in Azerbaijan (less than $882), Belarus ($535), Kyrgyzstan ($1209), Moldova ($540), Russia ($140-350), Tajikistan ($240-480).
