Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Volkswagen Group plans to expand scope of activities in Uzbekistan.

During the visit, issues of further expansion of cooperation in the production of Volkswagen and Škoda cars in Uzbekistan were discussed with representatives of the Volkswagen concern. The implementation of the project on the basis of the Jizzakh Automobile Plant will expand the range of products.

During the negotiations, Mr. Stefan Mecha noted that the Volkswagen automobile concern and the German government as a whole are extremely interested in joint projects with Uzbekistan. This applies not only to the automotive industry, but also to the implementation of projects in Uzbekistan for the development of technologies, personnel training, dual education and other important areas for the industry.

In 2020, an Agreement on cooperation was signed between Uzavtosanoat JSC and the Volkswagen Group Rus concern to organize the production of Volkswagen and Škoda cars on the basis of the Jizzakh Automobile Plant LLC. At the moment, Volkswagen Caddy and Škoda Kodiaq cars are presented in Uzbekistan
