Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

During a telephone conversation, Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his 65th birthday.

An exchange of views took place on key issues of bilateral cooperation. Some international topics were also touched upon, including in the context of preparations for the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization scheduled for autumn in Uzbekistan.

The mutual disposition for the comprehensive strengthening of Russian-Uzbek relations of strategic partnership and alliance was confirmed.

Earlier, the head of Russia sent a congratulatory telegram to Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and also signed a Decree on awarding the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Order of Alexander Nevsky.
