Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 November 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Vice Mayor of the Chinese city of Qingdao Liu Jianjun.

An exchange of views took place on the development of Uzbek-Chinese relations in the context of interregional cooperation.

An agreement was reached on establishing cooperation between the Pilot Zone "China - SCO" in Qingdao and the Industrial Zone "Uzbekistan - SCO" in Samarkand.

The prospects for further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, including the implementation of the agreements reached following the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan in September 2022, were considered.

The special role of interregional cooperation in bilateral relations and the readiness of the city of Qingdao to comprehensively support contacts with the cities of Uzbekistan were emphasized.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov was presented with a certificate of conferring the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Qingdao" for his contribution to the development of the China-SCO Pilot Zone while serving as the SCO Secretary-General in 2019-2021.
