Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 November 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America Jonathan David Hannick.

The meeting began with the ceremony of presenting copies of credentials by the Ambassador to the Minister, who congratulated him on taking office and wished him success in his professional activities.

During the conversation, the course of implementation of the previously reached agreements, as well as the schedule of upcoming events at the bilateral level and in the C5 + 1 format were considered.

It was noted that there are opportunities to build up trade and investment ties, including by attracting American capital and technology to the Uzbek economy, creating joint ventures in the fields of textiles, pharmaceuticals, energy, ICT, and strengthening financial cooperation.

An exchange of views took place on the situation in Afghanistan with an emphasis on the need to expand international assistance to this country.
