Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 6 July 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received the Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms, who arrived in Uzbekistan at the head of a delegation of German business circles to participate in a meeting of the Uzbek-German Business Council in Tashkent.
Michael Harms positively assessed the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, the positive transformations taking place in all spheres of the life of the state and society.
It was emphasized that in recent years the interest of the German business community in developing ties with Uzbekistan, which is regarded as a country with huge investment and export potential, has been rapidly growing. That is why the German delegation participating in the meeting of the Uzbek-German Business Council included representatives of more than 120 large companies and economic associations.
The importance of taking concrete measures to implement joint investment projects in the fields of energy, engineering, construction, mineral processing and textiles was noted.
The sphere of information and communication technologies is indicated as a promising direction for Uzbek-German cooperation. An agreement was reached to study the issue of organizing presentations of Uzbekistan’s opportunities in the field of IT in European countries in the form of a "road show".
Particular attention was paid to attracting German companies and specialists to the development of the vocational education system in Uzbekistan.
