Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 21 September 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, who is in New York to attend the 77th Session of the UN General Assembly, held a meeting with the Deputy Secretary of State of the United States of America for political questions by Victoria Nuland.

As noted during the meeting, in recent years, thanks to joint efforts, the Uzbek-American strategic partnership has significantly intensified in all areas of the bilateral and regional agenda. There is an intensive political dialogue based on the principles of mutual trust and respect.

Nuland announced the support of the American side for the course of reforms and openness being implemented in Uzbekistan. Washington’s commitment to building up ties with Uzbekistan at the bilateral level and in the C5 + 1 format was underlined.

The US Deputy Secretary of State welcomed the initiatives and practical steps taken by Uzbekistan to promote good neighborly relations with the countries of Central Asia, as well as to strengthen interregional interconnectedness.

High appreciation was given to the efforts of our country to achieve sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan, provide all possible humanitarian assistance to the neighboring state, and implement infrastructure and energy projects.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the schedule of upcoming events at various levels, as well as building up trade, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties.
