Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 September 2022, in New York, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka Mohamed Ali Sabry.
During the talks, the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation were considered, and an exchange of views took place on expanding trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian ties.
The commitment of the parties to the continuation of interaction within the framework of the UN, the SCO and other international institutions was noted.
The Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka expressed support for the efforts of the Uzbek side to strengthen political, diplomatic, trade and economic ties between Central and South Asia.
An agreement was reached on expanding the legal framework between the two countries to deepen cooperation in the field of promoting trade, investment, attracting tourists, and cooperation in the field of agriculture.
