Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 November 2022, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Chae Yong Sam, who arrived in our country to participate in the next round of Uzbek-South Korean political consultations.
The parties considered a wide range of issues of the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as the regional and international agenda.
As noted, in recent years, relations between the two countries have received a new impetus for development and reached a qualitatively new level of special strategic partnership.
It was emphasized that held in Seoul in December 2021, the Uzbek-Korean summit has become an important event for assessing the state of interaction and determining the prospects for cooperation. The readiness of the parties to further intensify contacts at various levels was confirmed, with an emphasis on the areas of digitalization, green development, as well as the implementation of a strong social policy.
An exchange of views took place on the interaction between Uzbekistan and South Korea within the framework of international organizations.
Particular attention was paid to the assessment and determination of the prospects for cooperation in the investment and trade and economic spheres.
The relevance and importance of issues of interaction in the field of the textile industry was noted. It was noted that Uzbekistan is interested in attracting leading Korean companies to production in this area.
