Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16 June 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Uzbekistan Ahmed Al Katheeri.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral relations in various fields.
The mutual readiness of Uzbekistan and Oman to build up political dialogue was expressed, including through political consultations, the development of inter-parliamentary relations, and the organization of visits of delegations on a reciprocal basis.
Particular attention was paid to the interaction of the parties within the framework of the UN, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international institutions.
The Ambassador emphasized that the Government of Oman fully supports the program of large-scale reforms and transformations being implemented in New Uzbekistan, and is ready to provide the necessary assistance in ensuring its effective implementation.
Attention was focused on the need to take effective measures to intensify trade and economic relations, including increasing trade turnover, attracting Omani investments, and implementing joint projects.
The parties expressed their interest in building up cultural, humanitarian, research and educational exchanges.
Other issues of mutual interest were also considered at the meeting.
