Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 7 September 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf Nayef Al-Hajraf in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
The Secretary General expressed gratitude to the Uzbek side for participating in the first ministerial meeting of the Strategic Dialogue "Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf - Central Asia" in Riyadh.
Nayef Al-Hajraf stressed that the Council highly appreciates the ole of Uzbekistan in the region and supports the ongoing reforms in the country.
The parties agreed to study the development of a "Road Map", which envisages specific measures to expand cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Council in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, educational and other fields.
Topical international and regional topics were discussed, including the situation in Afghanistan. The Secretary General of the GCC positively described the role and active participation of Uzbekistan in the socio-economic reconstruction of Afghanistan.
