Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 December 2022, as part of his visit to Japan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov held talks with the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of this country, Keiko Nagaoka.

During the meeting, issues of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of education, training and advanced training of personnel in the specialties in demand for the Uzbek economy, and the implementation of joint cultural and humanitarian events were discussed.

As Keiko Nagaoka stated, the Japanese side is following with great interest the implementation of the reformist course of the President of Uzbekistan in the areas of education, strengthening the material and technical base of educational institutions, training qualified personnel, science and innovation

Agreements were reached to start working on the issue of opening a professional educational institution in Uzbekistan (in Japanese “kosen”) with the involvement of Japanese technologies and specialists, further deepening cooperation in the field of higher education by concluding an intergovernmental agreement on the preparation of masters in technical specialties, as well as organizing trainings and internships for teachers and researchers of the republic.

Noting the progressive development of cultural and humanitarian relations, the parties discussed the organizational aspects of the planned events to familiarize the general public of the two countries with the rich cultural and historical heritage of each other.
