Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 September 2022, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei.

The parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus.

It was noted that due to the political will and practical efforts of the leaders of the two countries, the Uzbek-Belarusian relations in recent years have gained a special momentum. There is an active dialogue on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international institutions.

Makei highly appreciated the work done by the Uzbek side in the framework of the chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and preparations for the SCO Summit in Samarkand, which in its scale will become one of the main political events of the year.

Proposals were considered to intensify cooperation in the areas of trade, economy, transport, logistics, education and culture.

A schedule of upcoming events was considered, including within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus.
