Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held in the Tashkent khokimiyat with a group of deputies of Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation, headed by First Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly Arkady Chernetsky.
Abdumavlon Kosimov, head of the secretariat of the Tashkent City Kengash of People’s Deputies, noted that the visit of the guests would contribute to the development of socio-economic relations between Tashkent and the cities of the Sverdlovsk region.
Sverdlovsk deputies received detailed information about the activities of the Tashkent city Kengash, its powers, the work of commissions, parliamentary control over the activities of local executive bodies, public control, systemic critical analysis of the activities of khokims and territorial government bodies.
In turn, Arkady Chernetsky spoke in detail about the structure of the regional Legislative Assembly, its tasks, the procedure for nominating deputies from political parties and the system of working with the regional government.
The head of the delegation provided information on the economic potential of the region, its role in the field of mechanical engineering, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, and noted that the population of the Sverdlovsk region is 4.5 million people, and Yekaterinburg is the largest economic, cultural, scientific and educational center of the Urals. Today, students from our country study at the Ural Federal University and the Ural State University of Architecture and Art, which indicates the development of social ties between the Sverdlovsk region and Uzbekistan.
According to Arkady Chernetsky, the main purpose of the delegation’s visit is the exchange of experience between local councils and an overview of the creative work carried out in Tashkent, the establishment of cooperation in the field of urban planning and logistics.
