Violation of the rules for the import and export of regulated products entails liability

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Law "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Connection with Improving the System of Quarantine and Plant Protection" was signed by the President of Uzbekistan.

The law introduced the following amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility:

- violation of phytosanitary requirements and other rules for combating plant quarantine objects and other harmful organisms during the production, procurement, storage, transportation, processing, sale and destruction of regulated products - entails the imposition of a fine on citizens up to three sizes of basic estimated value (up to 810 thousand soums) , and for officials - up to five sizes of basic estimated value (up to 1 million 350 thousand soums);

- violation of the rules for the import into the Republic of Uzbekistan and export from its territory of regulated products - entails the imposition of a fine on citizens in the amount of up to 5 sizes of basic estimated value (up to 1 million 350 thousand soums), and on officials - up to 10 sizes of basic estimated value (up to 2 million 700 thousand soums).

Also, amendments have been made to the Law on Plant Quarantine. 

In accordance with it, it is prohibited to send in postal and courier shipments from foreign countries to citizens living in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including the transportation in baggage and hand luggage, regulated products with a high phytosanitary risk, including planting material for planting, inoculation, reproduction.

The law comes into force 3 months after the date of its official publication.
