Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9-10 December, a delegation led by Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Hu Chunhua visited Uzbekistan.
On 9 December, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov met with a Chinese delegation.
At the meeting, it was noted that sincere and friendly relations between the leaders of Uzbekistan and China, based on the principles of mutual trust, serve as an important factor in the development of bilateral relations.
China is traditionally one of the leading and reliable partners of Uzbekistan. Trade, economic and investment cooperation is rapidly developing. By the end of 2021, mutual trade between Uzbekistan and China amounted to almost US$8 billion. The leaders of the two countries decided to increase this figure to US$10 billion in the near future.
Cooperation in the field of investments and modern technologies is also steadily developing.
Today, there are more than 2,100 enterprises with the participation of Chinese capital in our country. In the last 10 months of 2022 alone, 218 new enterprises with the participation of Chinese capital have been created in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on topical issues of further development of cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Hu Chunhua said that Beijing intends to make efforts together with Tashkent to implement the important agreements reached by the heads of the two states, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and share opportunities for development.
The Chinese vice premier indicated that Beijing is ready to build a Chinese-Uzbek community of common destiny together with Tashkent, increase mutual firm support, intensify the conjugation of development strategies, expand trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, promote interconnectedness in practice, accelerate the implementation of large-scale projects. international transport routes in Eurasia, and further strengthen energy cooperation and unleash the potential of cooperation in the field of agriculture.
Abdulla Aripov noted that friendly and trusting relations between the heads of state played an extremely important role in promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between the two sides. Uzbekistan firmly adheres to the principle of one China and is ready to further deepen cooperation with China in the areas of trade, investment, transport, energy and infrastructure, as well as promote interconnection projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and all region.
As part of the visit, Hu Chunhua also met with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov. The parties exchanged views on the fight against poverty and other issues.
