The projects will be implemented in line with the resolution of the Uzbek president “On measures on further development of viticulture in Uzbekistan for 2013-2015” from 13 March 2013.
The projects are directed at construction new capacities, reconstruction and modernization of existing capacities in the industry. The company said that it is planned to implement over 30 new investment projects on creation new production capacities.
It is planned to realize projects on processing fruit and vegetables, production of juices from fruits, tinned products, dried vegetables, bread and confectionery, mineral water and soft drinks, capping materials, corrugated cardboard production and processing of plastic packaging.
All these will help to create new jobs and employ high skilled specialists, including graduates of colleges and universities.
It is planned to increase vineyards from 127,100 hectares in 2012 to 133,000 hectares in 2013, 140,800 hectares in 2014 and 149,700 hectares and 152,000 hectares in 2020. It is planned the vineyards will grow by 17.8% by 2015 compared to 2012 and 19.6% by 2020.
In 2006-2012, enterprises of the holding company realized 50 projects on construction, reconstruction and modernization of capacities, which were financed due to own resources, loans of banks and attracted investments for 134 billion soums. This helped to equip several enterprises with new equipment.
At the end of 2012, Uzbekistan had 81 enterprises of vine industry with annual production volume of 189,300 tonnes. It is expected that their number will grow to 83 (with capacity of 196,000 tonnes) in 2013, 86 (205,000 tonnes) in 2014 and 90 in 2015 (215,000 tonnes) and 93 (250 tonnes) in 2020. The capacities on wine production will grew by 13.6% compared to 2012 by 2015 and 32.1% in 2020.
Uzbekistan had 39 enterprises, producing tinned grape products with total capacity of 195,000 tonnes at the end of 2012. It is furcated that their number will rise to 44 (206,000 tonnes) by 2013, 52 (218,000 tonnes) by 2014, and 55 (232,000 tonnes) by 2015, as well as 62 (243,000 tonnes) by 2020.
Uzbekistan produced 50,000 tonnes of dried grapes, of which 35,900 were exported. The country also produced 2,900 tonnes of grape concentrate, of which 1,000 tonnes were exported. Uzbekistan manufactured 10,000 tonnes of grape juices and 5,700 tonnes were exported. Export of fresh grape made up 118,900 tonnes.
Uzbekistan will create 22,597 new plantations, of which 9,603 will be allocated to production of table sort, 4,340 to kishmish sorts and 8,960 to technical sorts of grape.
