Uzum Submits Application to Participate in Privatization of JSC “O‘zbekiston Pochtasi”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The national digital ecosystem Uzum has submitted an official request to the Agency for Management of State Assets, expressing its readiness to participate in the tender to acquire a state stake in the joint-stock company “O‘zbekiston Pochtasi” (UzPost).
The company emphasized that the postal operator is one of Uzum’s key partners and highlighted its intention to actively develop UzPost’s logistics and IT infrastructure.
“We are convinced that the postal service is one of the strategically important state assets, and its management should take into account not only business interests but also national priorities,” Uzum stated. “The postal service performs a range of socially significant functions and provides thousands of jobs across the country. Collaboration with a domestic IT company will help maintain a balance between operational efficiency and social responsibility, while considering the interests of all UzPost partners—both local and foreign, large and small businesses.”
Currently, Uzum Market and UzPost cooperate through more than 650 partner pick-up points. The company plans to significantly increase the volume of orders delivered using the postal operator’s infrastructure.
