Uzum Raises US$130M from Oman's Sovereign Fund
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzum, a leading Uzbek digital platform, has completed a strategic investment round, raising over US$130 million from sovereign entities of the Sultanate of Oman, the company’s press service reported.
Existing investors, including VR Capital, Tencent, and FinSight Ventures, also participated in the round. The new valuation of Uzum is set at US$2.3 billion.
The funds will be used to develop key areas of the company’s ecosystem, including e-commerce, digital banking, and payment services.
Currently, more than 20 million residents of Uzbekistan use Uzum’s services each month. The new investment will expand the company’s technological infrastructure, increase access to digital services, and broaden coverage across the regions.
This funding round highlights the growing interest of international investors in Uzbekistan’s digital market and strengthens Uzum’s position as a leader in the country’s innovation-driven economy.
