Uztransgaz Reports Replacement of Nearly 13 km of Defective Pipeline and Plans for the Current Year
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Videos have circulated on social media claiming defects in the Bukhara–Ural main gas pipeline, allegedly operated by the Gazli Main Gas Pipeline Administration within the Uztransgaz system.
The company clarified that the footage was recorded in 2024 and published at that time.
To verify the situation, Uztransgaz established a working group headed by the company’s Deputy Chairman. Specialists conducted a detailed inspection of the pipeline section and prepared an official report. Between 2024 and 2025, nearly 13 km of defective pipeline were completely replaced, and an additional 7.8 km of the pipeline is scheduled for replacement this year.
Uztransgaz emphasized that repeatedly sharing the 2024 footage out of context is unjustified and constitutes disinformation.
The technical condition of the main gas pipelines and industrial safety issues remain under strict control, with all work carried out in accordance with current regulatory standards.
The company also reminded that disseminating false information on social media may entail liability under existing legislation.
