Uztekstilprom intends to export underwear and swimwear to French consumers

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the information service of the Uztekstilprom association, on 18 October, the Embassy of Uzbekistan, together with the Paris Fashion Academy and the Uzbektekstilprom Association, organized an online meeting with representatives of the Union of the Textile Industry and the Federation of Textiles, Lingerie and swimwear France.

Chairman of the Association Uztekstilprom Ilkhom Khaydarov acquainted those present with the activities of organization, the available opportunities and advantages of the textile industry of Uzbekistan with an emphasis on the European market. In particular, they noted transparency along the entire production chain, the provision of subsidies for transport costs, the absence of import duties on Uzbek products, as well as low production costs, high quality cotton, etc.

He outlined promising areas of cooperation, including outsourcing of tailoring in Uzbekistan by French companies, as well as attraction and implementation of French technologies and know-how in the country's textile industry.

According to the vice-president of the Union of Textile Industry of France N.Blanc, there is a possibility of signing a mutually beneficial agreement on the "outsourcing" of yarn, rough and finished fabric from Uzbekistan.

Another direction may be the production of underwear and swimwear, provided that other types of yarn, along with cotton, are used, and that standards and quality requirements are met.

During the meeting, issues of cooperation in the field of organic cotton, recycled textiles, production of non-cotton types of fibers (polyester, viscose, elastin), as well as joint training in this industry were also discussed, the press service writes.
