Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Joint Stock Company Uzsuvtaminot, together with the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea, as part of a pilot investment project to modernize worn-out pipes in Mirabad district of Tashkent city, is implementing a grant project for US$3.5 million of the South Korean corporation K-Water.

Today, on 16 November, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC Sahib Saifnazarov and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan Mrs.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the work envisaged within the framework of the project to modernize the water supply networks of the city of Tashkent and improve their management in accordance with international standards, including the introduction of continuous monitoring and remote control technology using the SCADA system, the installation of about 200 "smart" valves, hydraulic remote control installations and other issues.

As a result, it will be possible to manage the water supply system in the project area using modern innovative technologies, reduce water losses, and accurately measure water consumption.
