Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 3 June, a ceremony was held in Tashkent to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Uzsuvtaminot and the South Korean corporation K-Water to build capacity in the field of drinking water supply and sanitation in Uzbekistan.
The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC Sahib Saifnazarov, Deputy Chairmen of the Board Rustam Mamadjanov and Khurshid Rakhmatullayev, Executive Director of the K-Water Corporation Jae Hyun Pak and other competent employees of the company.
To date, within the framework of projects implemented in order to radically increase the level of coverage of the population of our country with drinking water supply and sanitation services at the expense of foreign investments attracted to the sphere, a number of innovative technologies are being introduced, including a modern system for collecting data and dispatching control SCADA, a geographic information system , a new billing system. This, in turn, requires the formation of specialists' skills in using new technologies, increasing their level of knowledge and qualifications.
In this regard, in order to improve the knowledge and skills of more than 22 thousand employees working in the system, the joint-stock company "Uzsuvtaminot" regularly conducts special training sessions, seminars and conferences, organizes internships in foreign countries. At the same time, K-Water Corporation is one of the main partners of the Company in this direction. Together with this company, a number of projects are being implemented not only to train and improve the skills of personnel, but also to modernize worn-out networks, introduce new technological solutions, “smart” water consumption meters, and manage water losses.
In accordance with the signed memorandum, the parties will actively cooperate to implement capacity building projects in the field of water supply and sanitation. It also provides for holding and participating in seminars and expert exchange programs, as well as a joint search for solutions in the field of water supply and sanitation.
It is noteworthy that according to this document, the parties will make joint efforts to collect the data necessary to create a training center in the field of water supply and wastewater disposal in Uzbekistan. K-water will partner with Uzsuvtaminot to support the creation of this training center. Earlier, in 2020-2021, the management of Uzsuvtaminot visited Korea twice to negotiate the establishment of a national training center in Uzbekistan, got acquainted with the educational infrastructure of the training center, including the activities of the water distribution network center, a pilot water treatment facility.
South Korean corporation "K-Water" was founded in 1967 and operates in the field of construction, operation and management of facilities for the integrated use and foundation of water resources, as well as renewable energy facilities.
