UZSE turnover reaches 77.5bn soums in Jan-Oct

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turnover of Uzbekistan Stock Exchange (UZSE) made up 77.5 billion soums in January-October 2014, which fell by 10% compared to the same period of 2013 (86.2 billion soums in January-October 2013).

The exchange recorded 676 deals (771 deals in first ten months of 2013) with 157.855 million shares of 101 public companies for 69.2 billion soums and 7,700 bonds of 4 issuers for 8.3 billion soums in the reporting period.

Share of IPO market in total volume of deals made up 54.1 billion soums or 69.9% in January-October 2014. At the same time, the turnover of IPO market fell by 7% compared to ten months of 2013 (58.8 billion soums).

Share of the secondary market made up 30.1% or 23.3 billion soums in January-October 2014, which fell by 15.7% compared to the same period of 2013 (27.7 billion soums in Jan-Oct 2013), of which 1.25 billion soums were conducted with corporate bonds and 1 billion soums were REPO deals.

About 90.3% of exchange turnover or 69.9 billion soums fell to share of financial sector, of which 87.7% of the exchange turnover or 67.9 billion soums – banks, 2.6% or 2 billion soums –insurance companies and 0.06% or 0.04 billion soums – leasing companies. In the same period of 2013, the share of financial sector made up 90.2% or 77.8 billion soums.

Share of agriculture complex made up 1.7% in total turnover or 1.3 billion soums (3.6% and 3.1 billion soums in ten months of 2013).

The industrial sector accounted 2.2% of total turnover or 1.5 billion soums in January-October 2014 (0.6% and 0.5 billion soums in January-October 2013).

Share of construction industry in total turnover was 2.6% or 1.6 billion soums in January-October 2014 (2.2% or 1.9 billion soums in January-October 2013).
