UZSE turnover makes up 48.7 bn soums in 1Q
In the first quarter of 2011, the exchange recorded 238 deals with 32.4 million shares of 56 issuers.
Share of IPO market made up 78.7% of total turnover in January-March 2012 or 38.35 billion soums. Share of the secondary market was 21.3% or 10.35 billion soums.
High activity in the IPO market in the reporting period resulted in the growth of its share by 3.6 times compared to the first quarter of 2011 (10.78 billion soums).
Large number of deals fell to share of financial sector, which accounted 89.8% of deals or 43.7 billion soums. At the same time, about 83.9% of total turnover or 40.9 billion soums were conducted with shares of banks, 0.1% and 0.05 billion soums – to insurance companies and 5.8% or 2.8 billion soums - leasing firms.
At the same time, share of financial sector enterprises in total turnover of the UZSE grew by 11.7% percentage points compared to the first quarter of 2011 (78.1% or 56.5 billion soums in 1Q 2011).
Share of industrial sector made up 4.3% or 2.1 billion soums (11.1% or 8 billion soums in 1Q 2011), agro-industrial complex – 2% or 0.9 billion soums (0.07% or 0.05 billion soums), construction industry – 0.7% or 0.3 billion soums (2.7% or 2 billion soums).
