UzSE trades shares for 2.45bn soums on 12-18 Sep

Uzbek Stock Exchange (UzSE) carried out 134 deals with 394,000 shares of 17 public companies for 2.45 billion soums on 14-18 September 2009. The deals were registered in the secondary market’s national currency platform.
The average size of deal in the reporting period made up 18.3 million soums against 4.4 million soums in previous week. The highest ratio of price to par value was observed in consumer goods production sector (2.3).
The highest volume of turnover was observed in financial sector, which attained 92.7% of total turnover in the reporting period. During the reporting period, the deals were carried out with shares of enterprises in 7 regions of Uzbekistan.
Total turnover of the UzSE comprised 66.9 billion soums in 2009. Overall 5,771 deals with 164.303 million shares were recorded in 2009.
IPO market turnover comprised 12.6 billion soums (18.9% of total turnover) and the secondary market - 54.3 billion soums (81.1%).
Shares of enterprises in Tashkent city were popular among investors as 76.7% of all carried out deals or 41.314 billion soums fell to their share. Tashkent region and Kashkadarya region followed Tashkent city.
