UZSE records deals for 117.2bn soums in 11 months

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Trade turnover of Uzbekistan Stock Exchange “Tashkent” (UZSE) made up 117.2 billion soums in eleven months of 2012, the UZSE said in its report.

The exchange said that the volume of deals fell by almost 29% year-on-year in the same period of 2011 (165.4 billion soums).

In eleven months of 2012, the exchange recorded 835 exchange deals, within which some 186.85 million shares of 121 companies for 92.6 billion soums and 45,500 bonds of four issuers for 24.6 billion soums were realized.

The share of IPO market in total turnover of UZSE made up 69% in eleven months of 2012 or 80.8 billion soums. High activity at additional shares placement platform helped to increase the volume of deals in IPO market by 1.4 times compared to the same period of 2011 (59.4 billion soums).

According to the UZSE, the volume of deals in additional shares placement platform made up 56.3 billion soums in 11 months of 2012 (41.4 billion in 11 months of 2011), and corporate bonds placement – 24.5 billion (18 billion).

The volume of the secondary market reached 36.4 billion soums in January-November 2012 compared to 70.3 billion soums in 11 months of 2011.

Largest volume of deals was recorded with shares of financial institutions. Some 72% of deals or 84.4 billion soums fell to their share, including 67.7% or 79.4 billion soums – to shares of banks, 1.4% or 1.6 billion soums – to insurance companies and 2.9% or 3.4 billion soums to leasing companies.

At the same time, share of financial sector compared to the same period of 2011 grew by 9.2 percentage points (62.8% in 11 months of 2011).

Share of industrial sector made up 12.2% or 14.3 billion soums (24.1% or 39.9 billion soums in 11 months of 2011), agri-industrial complex – 4.2% or 4.9 billion soums (2.5% or 4.2 billion soums) and construction industry enterprises – 1.3% or 1.5 billion soums (1.2% or 2.2 billion soums).
