UzLiDeP: Reforms in the agricultural sector provide well-being of the population

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand Regional Council of UzLiDeP organizes seminars in order to explain the priorities defined in the decree of the President of our country “On measures on improving system of procurement and use of fruits, vegetables, potatoes and melons” on 12 April 2016 to the electorate, entrepreneurs and farmers at places. One of these events was held in diversified farm "Azam Azamat Agro" in Samarkand region.

The event was attended by members of UzLiDeP faction in the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis, deputies of local councils, specialists of agriculture, experts, heads of farms specialized in horticulture and gardening.

During the seminar head of the farm "Azam Azamat Agro" A. Sultonov briefed the participants with the efficient operation of their farm, as well as he told participants about exporting their products to the markets of the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

It was noted that due to the implementation of reforms in the agricultural sector in our country farm has become a powerful economic force. In 2013-2015 more than 8 thousand farms were reorganized into diversified farms in Samarkand region. They have implemented 9266 new projects and have created over 30 thousand new jobs as well as this year is planned to implement 2970 new projects and to expand activities of 2839 farms and create 11.379 thousand new jobs.

Participants noted that the reforms in the agricultural sector contribute to increase the volume of billets and improving food quality as well as the aforementioned degree will be an important factor in carrying out extensive work aimed at increasing the scale of processing and export of agricultural products.

At the event, participants exchanged views on the introduction of advanced techniques and technologies for growing fruit and vegetables, drip irrigation of foothill gardens, growing potatoes, vegetables and melons between rows of orchards and vineyards, organization of greenhouses and etc.
