UzLiDeP experts discuss the new law of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On June 29, the Executive Committee of the Political Council of UzLiDeP, its faction at the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis and Council of Farmers of Uzbekistan conducted a practical dialogue under the party project “Public examination of the draft laws concerning the further deepening of market reforms and liberalization of the economy and increase its competitiveness” devoted to the discussion of the draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On introducing amendments and addenda to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On protection and use of fauna”.

During the event the participants discussed the issues on further improving rules of hunting for wild animals, order of importing and exporting of fauna, ban of some hunting weapon, etc.

Specialists and experts of this sphere highlighted the importance the participation of local authorities, NGOs and citizens in decision making on matters concerning the protection, use of wildlife and its habitat, the introduction of new articles regulating the powers of the authorities. In recent years, the area of forests decreased by 10 times, which led to a reduction of the unique species of animals in particular of saiga antelopes to 25 times, now this kind of animals is 5-7 thousand.

Therefore, this draft law is aimed at improving ecological legislative of Uzbekistan, protection of biological diversification, protecting wild animals, strengthening economic bases in the sphere.

During the practical dialogue MPs noted, that the current Law "On protection and use of fauna", was adopted in 1997. During this period was adopted about 30 normative documents concerning this sphere. MPs have included these amendments in the new law. It will create more convenience for users.

— Within the framework of this draft law is planned to hold a series of practical measures to preserve the biological diversification and protecting wild animals, -said member of UzLiDeP faction and deputy D. Fayzieva. This in turn will ensure sustainable environmental protection, preservation and growth of populations of rare kinds of animals, extension of protected areas. It should be noted that this draft law envisages norms related to tax and other preferences to legal entities and individuals, protecting and ensuring rational use of fauna, as well as creating necessary conditions for fauna.

During the event MPs and participants expressed their opinion on further improving the draft law.
