UzLiDeP deputies protect the interest of their electorate

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- UzLiDeP council in Tashkent region together with the Independent Institute for Monitoring the Formation of Civil Society organized a training seminar on the theme: “Effective organization of activity of party groups in local councils of people’s deputies in implementation of program tasks and social-economic development of the region aimed at protecting the interests of the electorate”.

At the seminar special attention was paid to strengthen the work of the deputy groups by establishing regular hearing of reports of the heads of relevant organizations and making proposals for discussion at the sessions and standing committees of local councils of people’s deputies.

During the seminar the participants considered main directions of work of deputy groups, use of deputy requests, considering reports of the heads of the state bodies. It was noted that it is necessary to strengthen deputy control for analysis of current social-economic development of the region and determining existing problems in close cooperation with party organizations and Independent Institute for Monitoring the Formation of Civil Society.

— In the first quarter of this year, deputy groups in the district and city councils of people’s deputies have done significant work, - says member of the deputy group of UzLiDeP in Tashkent regional council R. Toshkhujaev. – In particular, the deputies sent 60 deputy inquiries to heads of organizations and agencies, based on these specific measures have been taken. Deputy groups heard reports of 22 officials and conducted 32 control and analytical measures. As well as they discussed 20 issues at the sessions of local councils and appropriate decisions were taken.

During the seminar, participants exchanged opinion and experience on the improvement of cooperation of deputy groups with local councils and primary party organizations.
