UZEX records deals for 158.4bn on 25-31 March

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total trade turnover of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) made up 158.4 billion soums on 25-31 March 2013, which exceeds the volume of the previous week by 15.8%, the press service of the exchange said.

Exchange trades

The exchange trade rose by 3.4% to 126.9 billion soums. The growth was achieved due to high sales of liquefied gas, polyethylene, oil products and forage. However, construction material dominate in structure of realized goods. Its share made up 57%.

The exports deals rose twice and made up US$2.5 million, of which 39% fell to share of mineral fertilizers, 30% cement, and 31% - liquefied gas.

In a week, Index UZEX showed 4.1% growth and reached 17,488 points. Price trends on liquefied gas, petroleum, cement and motor oil impacted to growth of the index. The highest growth was recorded in the liquefied gas market as the price rose by 58% in average compared to previous week.

Exhibition-fair trades

The exhibition-fair trade rose almost three times to 25.9 billion soums, which is the highest figure in 2013. The exchange said that 12.7 billion soums fell to internal market and 13 billion soums to exports.

The exchange noted that offer at exhibition-fair trade was equal, but number of deal was not equal. Some 618 deals were recorded in internal market, while export deals’ number was six units higher.

Tashkent branch of the exchange lead on all figures. All three largest export deals were registered by the branch. Copper wires for 12.8 billion soums were sold within these deals. But Andijan region lead on number of deals on sales of goods to small and private businesses, while Khorezm region on purchase.

On 25-31 March 2013, machinery products for 6.4 billion soums were sold, which grew 2.2 billion soums compared previous week. The growth rate of 2.9 times allowed to keep it the second place on demanded goods. Ferrous and non-ferrous metals clinched the first place with 13.9 billion soums. The growth rate made up five times.

Public procurement

Turnover of public procurement platform made up 5.5 billion soums or rose by 18% compared to previous week. Number of deals grew by 46% to 3,998 units. Number of trade participants also rose: budget organizations - up to 1,379 and suppliers – up to 724 organizations.

Clients of Karakalpakstan topped number of signed deals, while Ferghana region slipped to the second place.

Structure of suppliers did not change. Small and private businesses hold leadership with 100% participation in auction trades. The sector of Kashkadarya and Khorezm regions also have high figures with over 94% participation at trades.

Largest deal was recorded in Nukus. The sum of deal was 190 million soums. The largest deal, which saved budget resources (22 million soums) was registered in Gulistan, Syrdarya region. In both deals, personnel computers were sold. The most liquid deal was recorded in Tashkent city. Some 13 proposals on supply of bed-clothes and towels were submitted on the deal.
