UZEX records deals for 116.4bn soums last week

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total turnover of Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) made up 116.4 billion soums on 1-7 April 2013, which fell by 41.9 billion soums compared to previous week.

Exchange trades

The volume of exchange trades at UZEX reached 99.1 billion soums, which made up 85% of total turnover of last week. The trade turnover decreased due to fell of sales of forage, food products and oil goods. The structure of sales changed in the result. Share of construction materials rose from 34% to 40%, which helped the segment top the market.

Significant growth helped non-ferrous metals increase its share in the market up to 10%. Active trades at liquefied gas and polyethylene resulted in growth of their share from 8% to 26%.

Export market of UZEX completed more successfully. Goods for US$4.5 million were realized through hard currency platforms, which grew twice compared to previous week. Industrial oil products accounted 69% of market. Share of cement was 18%, liquefied gas – 9% and polyethylene – 4%.

Exhibition-fair trades

The volume of trades at exhibition-fair platform decreased up to 10.6 billion soums this week. UZEX said that the decrease is connected with growth of sales in internal market. Export volume made up over 1 billion sooums and the volume of internal sales – 8.9 billion soums.

Machinery products claimed leading position in the market with 32% of turnover of exhibition-fair trades. The sales volume of the segment made up 3.4 billion soums. Ferrous and non-ferrous metal followed machinery products with the sum of 2.2 billion soums and polymers – 1.2 billion soums.

Public procurement

In the reporting period, total turnover of auction trades on public procurement made up 6.8 billion sums, which grew by 22% compared to previous week.

Number of deals grew by 71% to 6,846 units. This helped to save budget funds by 46% or 1.6 billion soums. Number of budget organizations at trades rose by 39% and suppliers – by 5%.
