UZEX realizes 124,000 tonnes of liquefied gas in 1H
The growth of offer positively impacted to its share in total sales of goods at the exchange. In the reporting period, liquefied gas with 8% share entered to top five of goods along with food products, construction materials, fuel and polyethylene.
The liquefied gas market rose twice and in the end of March it reached maximum level. The price for liquefied gas was 878,000 soums per tonnes in January and it rose to 1.7 million soums per tonne in the end of March, which is highest price this year.
Large volume of offer resulted in decreasing prices in April, May and June 2012. In March 2012, the volume of offer was 19,000 tonnes and in May it rose five times, which helped to price stabilization.
In two decades of June, the volume of offered gas made up 17,000 tonnes, which allowed to decrease average price from 1.5 million to 1.4 million tonnes in June.
UZEX said that the structure of gas sellers significantly changed compared to 2011. Shortanneftegaz increased its share from 30% to 32% in the reporting period.
Bukhara refinery and Mubarek gas processing plants also increased offers and total volume of liquefied gas, put for sale from these two firms, reached 9,600 tonnes.
However, Shortan Gas Chemical Complex and Shortanneftegaz remain key players of the market as their share makes up 76%.
In the reporting period, the leaders of the market increased the volume of offered liquefied gas by 12,000 tonnes, which impacted the market.
In the reporting period, the liquefied gas consumption by regions did not change compared to 2011.
Key buyers are automobile gas fuelling station of Samarkand region, Tashkent region, Kashkadarya region and Surkhandarya region. They purchased 75% of total volume of liquefied gas sold via UZEX.
At the same time, regions from Ferghana Valley increased gas purchase and their share made up 8% in the reporting period. These regions purchased 10,000 tonnes of gas, which 2.5 more year-on-year.
