UZEX: Number of slate sellers increases at exchange market

Some 6.7 million lists of slates were realized in nine months of 2013 at the Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX), which grew by 28% year-on-year.
UZEX press service said that number of slate sellers increased in the reporting period and reached 14 enterprises.
Market share of Kuvasoyshifer decreased from 51% last year to 38% this year. Kyzylkumcement’s share in the market made up 19%, Ahangaranshifer – 23%, Urgut Yashil Oltini – 9% and Bekabadshifer – 7%.
The exchange said that the prices for slates grew in nine months of 2013. The high growth was recorded in July.
In the beginning of 2013, the price for slate was 18,700 soums per list and grew to 22,000 soums per list in August. The experts noted that this was expected as the roofing works are mainly conducted in the second half of 2013.
In September, the price for slate decreased and reached 21,000 sous per list, the exchange said.
