UZEX: Auction trades record growth last week

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Commodity Exchange (UZEX) recorded 3.7% growth of its turnover to 129.8 billion soums despite fall of the volume of the exchange trades on 23-29 September 2013, the press service of the exchange said.

The exchange noted that the auction trades helped to ensure positive growth of the UZEX trade turnover for the second time this year.

Exchange trade

The volume of exchange trade fell by 3.9 billion soums to 108 billion soums last week. Its share in total trade turnover decreased from 89% to 83%.

In the reporting period, the sales of construction materials and foodstuff rose significantly from 52% to 61%. The sales of forage increased over 1.5 times and their share in trades hit 4% last week against 2% in previous week. At the same time, the exchange recorded fall in other positions.

Export trades of the exchange recorded significant growth compared to internal trades. The UZEX recorded export deals for US$2.8 million. Last week, the exchange resumed sales of liquefied gas, non-ferrous metals and oils. Share of aluminum of AB87 mark and industrial oils I-20A made up 8%. The share of liquefied gas made up 62%, polyethylene – 16% and cement – 14%.

Exhibition-fair trades

Trade-turnover of the exhibition-fair trades for last week grew by 56% to 12.3 billion soums. The export deals positively impacted the turnover, the volume of which made up 2.1 billion soums. At the same time, the number of deals rose from 570 to 916. The small businesses sold products for 5.4 billion soums.

Tashkent branch led on all figures. Bukhara region was second on number of deals and Namangan branch was third. Karakalpakstan and Ferghana were second and third on the volume of deals.

Metallurgy and machinery led in the structure of realized goods. Polymers, plastics and products from them were the second. Total volume of trades with these goods made up 8.6 billion soums or 70% of total turnover of the exhibition-fair trades. The largest deal was recorded by Karakalpak branch for 1.7 billion soums.

Largest deal in internal market was registered at Tashkent branch. The deal volume is 625.9 million soums.

Public procurement

Last week the volume of public procurement rose by 36% to 7.1 billion soums. The save of the budget funds made up 1.1 billion soums. Share of small businesses in total volume made up 94%.

Karakalpakstan, Ferghana and Namangan regions were top three branches on number of deals (36% of total deals). Tashkent city, Namangan and Samarkand region were top three branches on the sum of the deals. They recorded deals for 2.4 billion soums, which made up 34% of public procurement turnover.

Largest deal was recorded in Tashkent city. The sum of the deal on purchase of computers was 170 million soums.

Corporate procurement

Corporate procurement turnover made up 2.4 billion soums last week, which grew by 108.4 million soums compared to previous week. It helped to save 447.8 million soums, or 15.6% compared to the starting price.

At the same time, number of signed deals increased from 97 to 131, in which average proposals made up four and maximum proposals – 18. About 62% of deals on purchase fell to share of Tashkent and Tashkent region. Share of Kashkadarya was 15%, Ferghana region – 10%, Khorezm – 4%, Samarkand, Bukhara and Andijan regions – 3% each.

Construction materials (15%), computer and electronics (14%) and services on repairing buildings, machinery and electronics (each 13%) were the most demanded products and services last week.
