UzEraeCable start production of battery cable for Cobalt

Administration of Navoi FIEZ said that Leoni (South Korea) is a technical partner for the production of the product. New product passed all laboratory tests and approved for use by GM Uzbekistan, GM Korea and GM Brazil.

It is expected that the joint ventur will produce 9,000 sets of battery cables for Cobalt till the end of 2012.

The joint venture UzEraeCable was created in 2011 between Uzavtosanoat (Uzbekistan) and Erae cs Ltd (South Korea). It can produce 140,000 km of automobile wires per year.

Total project cost is US$13.2 million. The main customer of automobile wires is the JV UzKodji, which supplies products to GM Uzbekistan.
