UzCharmExpo 2022: export agreements for about US$50 million signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25-27 May, Tashkent hosted the 12th International Exhibition-Fair UzCharmExpo 2022, which brought together over 70 foreign companies and organizations from more than 30 countries of the world, as well as about 100 domestic enterprises that presented over 4,000 items of products. 

At this international forum, organized by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade together with the Uzcharmsanoat Association, samples of leather, footwear, fur products, raw materials and components of domestic production were presented to foreign partners.

A number of international organizations took part in the event, including the International Council of Tanners (ICT), the Russian Fur Union, the National Shoe Union of the Russian Federation, the Ruspushnina International Fur Auction, the embassies of a number of foreign countries in Uzbekistan, incl. Republic of Belarus, India, Iran and Kyrgyzstan.

Within the framework of the exhibition, round tables and B2B meetings were organized dedicated to the achievements of foreign companies in the field of leather and footwear, the presentation of new types of leather, footwear and leather goods, modern technological equipment that meets international standards. UzCharmExpo also launched a display of collections of shoes, clothes and leather goods from design students of the Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry.

The latest trends in the development of the industry, trends, technologies, trademarks, quality certificates, marketing innovations were discussed during dozens of training seminars and master classes. In particular, there was a presentation of “Brand History” by the French company Mephisto, “Mind Cad” software by the Portuguese company Mind Technology, special chemicals for the leather and fur industry by the Russian company Neoxim. Specialists of the Institute of Textile and Light Industry presented a master class on designing shoes, as well as scientific and practical materials on other topics. 

To get acquainted with the investment climate and business conditions in Uzbekistan, business tours were organized to Samarkand, Bukhara, Syrdarya, Tashkent, Namangan, Andijan, Ferghana regions and Tashkent city. And the trip of foreign guests to Samarkand, also included in the rich UzCharmExpo program, helped to reveal the scale of the tourism potential, the depth of the rich history and national culture of the country. 

The format of B2B, B2G, G2G meetings made it possible to find points of contact between the interests of representatives of Associations, domestic companies, large business circles, embassies and companies from various countries, including those with a developed leather and footwear and fur industry - Italy, Turkey, England, France, Russia, Belarus, China, India.

As a result of three fruitful days of the exhibition, export agreements for about US$50 million were concluded, and preliminary investment agreements for US$35 million were also reached.

In particular, contracts have been signed with Russian companies - Paris Commune, Yachting, Bars, Soft Gold, Foma, Zebra, Avanti, Caravan-M, German Tutelo, French Mephisto, Italian Tecon, Indian Penza Exports, Shine Leather Finishers, Homera tanning, Iranian Sepehr Industrial Group, Belarusian Furnitura, Galanteya, Minsk Tannery, as well as a number of companies and large retail chains in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.

The international exhibition-fair UzCharmExpo 2022 has become an effective business platform for local enterprises to enter the world market and increase the investment potential of our country.
