Uzbektelecom sees investments at US$30.8m in 2009

Uzbek national fixed-line operator Uzbektelecom plans to invest US$30.8 million in telecommunications network development in 2009, a spokesperson with the company told Prime-Tass Monday without providing comparisons.
Specifically, Uzbektelecom plans to invest US $11 million in expanding the IP backbone line in Uzbekistan’s capital of Tashkent; US $5.8 million in the construction of international communications lines; and US $10 million in upgrading regional networks, the spokesperson said.
